The 2016 Oxford Dictionary word of the year is "post truth". This term is an apt reflection of the times we are living in. The times, in which oversaturation with information, engineering and multiplicity of truths results in manipulation in different spheres of human life and brings about feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. Does it mean that the eternal values (love, faith, courage, freedom) are becoming a thing of the past or, on the contrary, humanity is able to rediscover them?
My Emerald is a collection by Ivan Franko in which he tried to present his contemporaries with a number of poetic fables, short stories and reflections that form a consistent common framework in terms of moral perception. The poet defined his greatest desire in the collection, "for my word to be clear and for it to reflect the sincere human face as a mirror." A series of meetings My Emerald: Conversations about Eternal Values in the Post-Truth Epoch invites for joint debate on the sense of eternal values in the contemporary world. Let us all look inside the Emerald and find answers to the challenges of time.
