Remembering Franko at the Lychakiv cemetery

The Lychakiv cemetery is a magnificent historical sight in Lviv. This is one of the oldest necropolises in Europe, with its gorgeous sculptural gravestones and old crypts. A place where time stopped. A place where one wants to contemplate on the eternal.

This is the place where Ivan Franko lies, as well as some of his family members and friends. You will have a chance to view the sculptural gravestones and listen about the life and work of Ivan Franko, Solomiya Krushelnytska, Stanislav Liudkevych, Markiyan Shashkevych, Ivan Trush and other people, who built the Ukrainian nation.

You will also get to know why Ivan Franko was buried in somebody else’s crypt. And why did he have to wait for his own grave for as long as 17 years? And how was his son Andriy’s forgotten grave found?

You will also be able to pay respect to our great ancestors with a candle or flowers!

Thinking about your comfort, we would kindly remind you to take comfortable shoes and a bottle of water to make our walking tours even more pleasant for you.

Duration: 1 hour
Age: 12+ years
Price: 150 UAH per person (10 people or more)
